McAully Flying Group

Membership

The McAully Flying group has two levels of membership:

Full Member
A full flying member of the group, holding a share in the society and having access to the group aircraft. Members are limited to 11 Flying Hours per month to aid accessibility of aircraft, but if the aircraft is being taken away for a few days this can be extended on request.

Associate Flying Members
Pilots who wish to use the facilities of the group, including fuel and the clubhouse.

We do not accept 'Hours Builders', and we do not hold a 'waiting list'.

Required hours & qualifications

There are no required minimum hours or qualifications for membership of the McAully Flying Group, in fact one of the many benefits of the group is its mixture of low hours new PPLs and experienced high hours pilots many of whom own their own aircraft. There is, however, a twelve month probation period when you join, and we do expect members to help with the running of the group, be it airfield maintenance work, painting, weed clearing, flying events, and some IT/administration.

Please note that we do not offer tuition, therefore you will require a valid pilot's licence and appropriate rating(s) to be able to fly the group aircraft.

Costs

The group's primary focus remains to provide affordable flying to its members.

Current Costs are :- from 4 May 2023

Full Member

Subscription; Annual £570 (1 February), or Bi-annual (1Feb & 1 Aug) £290, (the preferred options)

or Monthly £50 payable on 1st of each month.

plus £100.00 per hour (brakes off/brakes on minus 10 minutes) wet.

In addition to the above there are the following one off costs:

£50 one-off joining fee - non refundable
£250 share/loan, fully refunded upon leaving the group.

Associate Member - £100 per year payable from 1 February
