G-MCLY was delivered to the group at the end of October 2007, having had a bare metal re-spray, extensive re-furbishment and new blue leather interior. LY replaced the group's previous aircraft, G-BTEX a Piper PA28-140.

G-MCLY will cruise happily at 105-110 knots at about 2300 rpm while burning around 30lph. She has the full compliment of IMC instruments including: G-MCLY Instrumentation

Availability

G-MCLY boasts excellent availability with full online booking, a flexible non equity group structure and a very generous booking entitlement, allowing up to nine consecutive days in a single booking (and more by arrangement).

G-MCLY is maintained to full public category CofA standards and is permanently hangared in the group's hangar.

Costs

The group's primary focus remains to provide affordable flying to its members, however in recognising that not everybody's needs are the same two classes of membership have been established:

  • £600 per annum subscription, payable monthly, biannually or annually
  • £105 per tacho hour wet
  • £300 per annum subscription, biannually or annually
  • £50 One-off joining fee
  • £250 share, refunded upon leaving the group

Hangarage is also available to members of the group who own their own aircraft.

Required hours & qualifications

There are no required minimum hours or qualifications for membership of the McAully Flying Group, in fact one of the many benefits of the group is its mixture of low hours new PPLs and experienced high hours pilots many of whom own their own aircraft.
